Haibin Xu has worked at Shell since 2006, mostly in upstream technology and business. He started in exploration and development for 6 years; then became a petrophysics team lead and new ventures team and project manager, followed by a year working on corporate strategy, specifically related to Shell’s global LNG strategy, and Shell China upstream strategy. Currently Haibin is the regional manager for Shell Research Connect and Shell GameChanger in the US, responsible for Shell’s university & national lab research collaborations in the US as well as early stage investments in energy startups. Prior to Shell he worked for 4 years for Schlumberger. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Geophysics from Stanford University in 2002.
